The event will be known as the 2023 Coral Coast Helicopter ServicesKickstarter’s Gascoyne Dash, conducted at Carnarvon and Gascoyne Junction in the state of Western Australia, from 27th - 30th April 2023.
AUTHORITY & PERMIT
The event will be held in accordance with Motorcycling Western Australia (MWA), which has issued the MWA Permit Number as displayed on these Supplementary Regulations and is open to holders of Motorcycling Australian National Competition License’s and One Meeting License’s.
This meeting will comply with the current General Competition Rules (GCR’s)contained in the Manual of Motorcycle Sport (MoMS) as issued by Motorcycling Australia (MA), the Supplementary Regulations (SR), and any final instructions (Bulletin) approved by MWA. By entering this meeting all parties agree to comply with these rules, regulations, by-laws and instructions.

ENTRIES & EVENT FEES
Entries open Wednesday, 1st March 2023
Entries close Saturday 1st April 2023
Entry forms must be completed in full on the online entry found at HERE. Entries are not valid until the entry fee is paid in full. Entries for the event are limited to 100 bikes & 30 quads however the Promoter has the discretion to increase number of entries.
Late entries may be accepted at Promoters discretion and subject to payment of late entry fee.
Entries are open to competitors from the age of 16 years and above.
Entry Cancellation/ Cancellation or Abandonment
Entry fees (less a $80.00 administration fee) will only be refunded if a competitor informs the Promoter, in writing, on or before TBC. A competitor who withdraws from the event after TBC will not receive any refund. In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, an $80 administration fee will be deducted from any refund given (this will go towards meeting already committed costs), if such retention is approved by MWA.

- Competitors aged 16 – 18 years must have a full MWA License – No Day Licenses
- Competitors without a Civil Valid Driver’s License cannot be issued a Dept of Transport Road permit, therefore they cannot drive their race vehicle to and from on any gazette roads, before during or after the event.
- The above ruling means competitors without a Driver License/Road Permit will be required to dismount their vehicle and push it across the road at the designated Road Crossing on the Carnarvon Mullewa Road. Failure to adhere to this is automatic exclusion from the event.

All machines entered must comply with the current GCRs for Enduro competition. Multiple entry of the 1 machine in different classes of competition is NOT permitted. Change of machine is allowed between Prologue and Day One of competition provided the machine is of the same class and has been scrutineered. Requests to change machine must be made in writing to the Clerk of Course and before 5pm on the day preceding next day start.
Insurance & Personal Risk
Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for riders. The Promoter recommends all competitors review the adequacy of their ambulance insurance, health and other personal insurances.

- Affiliated club membership card (If not MA License holder)
- Current MA competition license (if applicable)
- Ambulance cover for competitor
- Proof of Age Identification
- All such other requirements and information as may be necessary for the proper conduct of the Event

To constitute a class the number of contestants entered and competing in each class shall be 4 or more. Should there be insufficient entries in any class of competition, the decision to run or cancel the class, or to combine events and re-distribute any awards and/or prize money, will be at the discretion of the Promoter – subject to MWA approval.
- E1 Up to 250cc
- E2 251cc to 450cc

- Veterans (35-44years) - All Powers – Bike Or Quad rider must be 35+ as at 27th April 2023
- Masters (45+) - All Powers – Bike or Quad rider must be 45+ as at 27th April 2023

- Quads Up to 930cc

PRE-RUNNING
Pre-running of any portion of the race track in strictly forbidden and will result in exclusion from the event.
BIKE EXAMINATION
Thursday 27th April and Friday 28th April. All competitors MUST attend Registration prior to Examination.
Machines entered in the competition must have successfully passed a machine examination prior to taking part in recon, prologue or racing.
A decal may be placed on the front number plate to indicate that it has been successfully examined. In addition to pulling down and checking of machines after official protests have been received by the Clerk of Course in accordance with the GCRs, the Bike Examiner can check and pull down, at their discretion, any machine that has taken part in the event. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in the matter being referred to the Clerk of Course for further action. Machines will not be sealed for later checking after the event. All machines that are to be pulled down and scrutineered will take place at the circuit before the machine is released by the Examiner. A member of the rider’s team must be available at all times to assist with the strip down. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in the matter being referred to the Clerk of Course for further action.
STATIC DISPLAY
Thursday 27th April from 3pm – 6pm - Carnarvon Civic Centre
The static display is an important community engagement undertaking and is mandatory as part of our funding agreements.
RECONNAISSANCE OF PROLOGUE TRACK
Friday 28th April from 8am - GORRC Home Base
The Prologue course located at Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club Inc New Home Base at 200 Nth West Coastal Hwy and is approximately 14 km’s in length. The course approximates some of the conditions likely to be encountered during the 2023 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash®.
PROLOGUE
Friday 28th April from 9.30am - GORRC Home Base
Competitors will start at one (1) minute intervals; or as advised by Clerk of Course.
RACING – DAY ONE - GORRC Home Base
Saturday 29th April
Grid positions will be positions 1 to 20 singularly, positions 21 upwards in pairs. Start at sixty (60) second intervals or at the discretion of Clerk of Course. Competitors will race a 200km point-to-point section from Carnarvon to Gascoyne Junction, which includes three (3) checkpoints/fuel stops. The course consists of mainly hard surfaced station tracks, sandy hill climbs, fence lines and roads.
Time Allowance is 4 hours from each competitor’s start time. A competitor will be timed out at a Checkpoint/Fuel Point if it is deemed the remaining course cannot be completed within the time allowance at an average speed of 40kmh. Competitors who have exceeded the Time Allowance will be deemed to be “timed out” and will be recorded as DNF. Competitors timed out will be stopped at the next Fuel Point and will be required to move their bike to an area as directed by an Official and await recovery.
