2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash

It is with great sorrow that the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club wishes to inform you that due to low confirmed entries the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will not be held as it is not economically viable.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it does give the committee the opportunity to reinvigorate the event.

All entry fees that have been paid will be reimbursed in full. Deb will be in touch to get your bank details and confirm the amounts paid.

Rest assured that this is not the end of the Gascoyne Dash and we will have exciting news for everyone in the near future.

The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to growing the relationship in the years to come.

The ADVENTURE continues!

Brand New Event - Wooramel 300

Posted on 28.03.2010

New desert racing event to be held weekend of 8th & 9th May 2010 at Wooramel Station, 120 kms south of Carnarvon WA.

Entries now open for CAMS (cars) and MWA (bikes) competitors. Entry fee is $275.

This Event is a "baby brother" of the mighty Gascoyne Dash.

Gascoyne Offroad Racing Club is hosting a new event, the Wooramel 300, on the weekend of 8th and 9th May 2010. This event has been made possible by the owners of Wooramel Station, Justin and Rachael Steadman.

Wooramel Station is 120kms south of Carnarvon WA on the Northwest Coastal Hwy.

The course is a circuit of approximately 40 kms with a river section, fast station tracks and break away country. Event Director Paul Kelly explains “the Wooramel 300 is being staged to give our members and other competitors an opportunity to experience race conditions prior to the Gascoyne Dash. We hope to encourage those people that want to experience desert racing to give the much shorter and far less hostile course of the Wooramel 300 a go”.

The Event is open to CAMS (cars) and MWA (bikes) competitors and the entry fee is $275.

Scrutiny and registration for visitors is on Saturday morning with arrangements for locals the preceding weekend.

Camping is available at the Station and entry is free. Carnarvon School of the Air is manning the bar and canteen which should prove popular with a selection of camp food. The station owners advise NO FIRES due to very dry conditions.

Paul Kelly explains an important volunteer aspect “the Wooramel 300 is a great opportunity for our Dash volunteers to practice their roles; we have made 2 mandatory fuel stops on each day for competitors and there will be senior officials on hand to oversee the right and wrong ways of performing important duties”.

Entry details can be obtained from www.gasdash.com or emailing admin@gasdash.com or calling Paul Kelly on 0427427154
