2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash

It is with great sorrow that the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club wishes to inform you that due to low confirmed entries the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will not be held as it is not economically viable.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it does give the committee the opportunity to reinvigorate the event.

All entry fees that have been paid will be reimbursed in full. Deb will be in touch to get your bank details and confirm the amounts paid.

Rest assured that this is not the end of the Gascoyne Dash and we will have exciting news for everyone in the near future.

The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to growing the relationship in the years to come.

The ADVENTURE continues!

Local Team take State Title - Congratulations Ted Schultz and Rick Andreoli

Local competitors travel to Hyden WA to do battle in the final round of the 2010 WA Offroad Championships.

The final round of the Western Australian Off Road Racing Championship was held at Hyden on the long weekend with two Carnarvon teams in the hunt for State Championships.

Ken Styles and Joshua Ellis went into the final round with a small points lead over 4 times State Champion Brad Cooper for outright honours and also were within striking distance of the Pro Buggy Class win.

Photo: Ted Schultz and Rick Andreoli at Hyden Ted Schultz and Rick Andreoli were also locked in a tight tussle in the Production 4WD class with Gascoyne Dash regulars Matt Hall and Jason Isaac .

The race consisted of a total distance of 280 kilometres over three heats in very dry and dusty conditions with a small field of 28 competitors. The fast and furious action saw pro Buggy driver Beau Robinson/Adam Trewella take outright honours from Cooper/Cooper 2nd and Styles/Ellis 3rd giving Cooper his 5th WAORRC Outright State Championship and also the Pro Buggy Class Championship. The time between Cooper and Styles over the 280 km’s was only one minute 2 seconds which ultimately decided the Championship.

Schultz /Andreoli went into the final round with the knowledge they could afford to finish one place behind Hall/Isaacs and still take class honours. All was going to Plan after the 1st heat with Hall/Isaac taking out the heat from Schultz/Andreoli before the drama started with Hall/Isaac succumbing to mechanical failure in the first lap of the second heat and out of the event. Schultz/Andreoli were also experiencing mechanical problems which saw them visit the pits mid race before finishing the in 3rd position in class. The points gained were enough to ensure Ted Schultz and Rick Andreoli the 2010 Production 4Wd State Championship backing up their wins in 2007 and 2008.

Justin Steadman and Saxon Boston in only their second outing in their new Pro Buggy were prominent early before gremlins struck and ended their race early.
