2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash

It is with great sorrow that the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club wishes to inform you that due to low confirmed entries the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will not be held as it is not economically viable.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it does give the committee the opportunity to reinvigorate the event.

All entry fees that have been paid will be reimbursed in full. Deb will be in touch to get your bank details and confirm the amounts paid.

Rest assured that this is not the end of the Gascoyne Dash and we will have exciting news for everyone in the near future.

The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to growing the relationship in the years to come.

The ADVENTURE continues!

Gascoyne Offroad Racing Club recognised at Business Awards

Posted on 18.09.2010

The Club was voted a finalist in the 2010 Carnarvon Chmaber of Commerce and Industry Inc Business Awards. The gala evening was held at the Carnarvon Hotel

The Club entered the Best Community Organisation category and was announced the winner. Event Director Paul Kelly accepted the award on behalf of the Club. In accepting the award Mr Kelly thanked the Gascoyne Development Commission, Shire of Carnarvon and Shire of Upper Gascoyne for their significant financial support to get the Dash to where it is now.

Mr Kelly noted the significance of winning this business award "In the early days the Dash may have been considered a bit of a cowboy operation but credit to those early organisers who knew they had something special in the event. The Club and the Dash are now run as a business and we cannot be everything to everybody anymore. There is a vision and plan to going forward"

The special role of volunteers was also acknowledged by Mr Kelly "We have competitors bringing hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars worth of race machines and support, we have many great sponsors but without our legions of volunteers the Dash could never be staged. This award, like all other awards and recognition the Club has received, is for our volunteers". The audience warmly applauded the volunteers.

Mr Kelly closed by inviting local businesses to join in the Dash celebration and advised Club representatives will be visiting businesses shortly offering discount t-shirts and free balloons. "We want every business in town displaying their support for this great event by wearing the t-shirts on the Thursday and Friday of the event and displaying the Dash balloons in their business. What a great impact this will be for our visitors" Mr Kelly explained.
