2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash

It is with great sorrow that the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club wishes to inform you that due to low confirmed entries the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will not be held as it is not economically viable.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it does give the committee the opportunity to reinvigorate the event.

All entry fees that have been paid will be reimbursed in full. Deb will be in touch to get your bank details and confirm the amounts paid.

Rest assured that this is not the end of the Gascoyne Dash and we will have exciting news for everyone in the near future.

The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to growing the relationship in the years to come.

Calling for 2013 Dash Volunteers

Volunteers are the life of any event and the 2013 Dash is looking to welcome back past volunteers and welcome new volunteers to the Dash family.

Event Director Paul Kelly suggested "Retired or injured competitors should consider assisting and giving something back to the sport; without volunteers events wouldn't run and where would that leave us?"

Mr Kelly advises "The Event is looking for people to assist with pre, event and post event activities including;

  • IT
  • Secretarial
  • Media
  • Volunteer Management
  • Event Management
  • Medical
  • Trackmarking
  • Put together competitor packs and volunteers packs
  • Event registration day
  • Catering
  • Cleaning
  • Checkpoints
  • Timing
  • Radio operators
  • Recovery crews (availability of 4WD ute handy)
  • Sweeps (bikes and quads welcome)

Specific roles that need filling;

  • Car section secretary (must have relevant CAMS accreditation)
  • Bike section secretary (must have relevant MWA accreditation)
  • Bike competitor liaison officer
  • Car competitor liaison officer"

Mr Kelly is very excited about welcoming back large Perth volunteer group "We again have a large contingent of 4wd enthusiasts from the Western Patrol Club; they provided very capable in 2012 and we are looking to use them to monitor and assist on the long river section". 

Mr Kelly also noted "The Dash is not all about work, at the end of the day volunteers get to relax and enjoy the entertainment, catering and beverages. Volunteering for the Dash is also a great way to see some fantastic country in company with friends and new acquaintances"
