Ivan Erceg a familiar sight at the Dash who plays it hard on and off the bike; Ivan finished 32nd outright.
The Outerbounds Race Team of father Brian and sons Beau and Travis took 3 cars to Finke. Unfortunately Brian’s Porter Chevy combination developed gear box problems and failed to finish day one. Son Travis guided the V8 Jimco into 3rd position outright on day one. The big surprise was Beau’s brand new Jimco running a twin turbo V6. The turbo is a big move away from the Chev V8s the family traditionally run and it proved a potent package with Beau and navigator Roy Lukies finishing 3rd outright. When asked about his Finke experience Beau said “we were a bit lucky with a number of front contenders crashing out or breaking. The 2009 Finke was the first outing for the new car so I took it steady trying to feel the car out”. Will the Robinson family and the familiar Outerbounds race cars be back for the 2009 Dash? “You bet” responded Beau.
