2017 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash - 14th to 16th April

The 2017 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash entries will open on the 1st February 2017. The Dash for 2017 will be Round 2 of the Western Australian Off Road Championship for the car division. Bikes will also be competing on the same course as the cars and all racing for 2017 will be based out of Carnarvon.

2017 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash & Beyond

Thanks to everyone for being so patient while we have been busily mapping out a plan for the future of the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club and the Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash.

After drawing a line in the sand prior to the 2016 event we have been making plans for 2017 and 2018.

The 2017 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will be held over the Easter long weekend and be based out of Carnarvon for the whole of the event. It will incorporate Round 2 of the Western Australian Off Road Racing Championship for the auto division and we will also be running the moto division over the weekend as well. We are currently working on the Supplementary Regulations which will have full details but the basis of the event will be a loop event with competitors completing a set number of laps at different intervals over 2 days of racing. This is a major change for the Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash but it is not here to stay.

The 2018 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash and into the future will see the event run over the Easter long weekend and the event will start and finish in Carnarvon. The event will be held over 4 days and will incorporate registration, prologue, Day 1 racing will be from Carnarvon to Gascoyne Junction where there will be an overnight stop in the town of Gascoyne Junction. Day 2 racing will see competitors race from Gascoyne Junction to Carnarvon where there will be celebrations and presentations held that evening.

As a club we see that this change will help to bring life back into the event and provide a spectacle for the communities of Carnarvon and Gascoyne Junction that will be at the top of the must do and see list for our community members and everyone else in the world.

It may seem like a long road at the moment but it will be here before we know it. Keep an eye out for the 2017 supp regs and entry opening dates which will be out in the near future.

We are also starting to look for volunteers for the event so if you know of anyone or are anyone that is not booked for Easter yet and would like to get close to the action please contact president@gasdash.com

2016 Gascoyne Dash - UPDATE

It is with great sorrow that the Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club wishes to inform you that due to low confirmed entries the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash will not be held as it is not economically viable.

This decision has not been made lightly, however it does give the committee the opportunity to reinvigorate the event.

All entry fees that have been paid will be reimbursed in full. Deb will be in touch to get your bank details and confirm the amounts paid.

Rest assured that this is not the end of the Gascoyne Dash and we will have exciting news for everyone in the near future.

The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to growing the relationship in the years to come.

The ADVENTURE continues!

The 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash is fast approaching, 2016 will see our second year of racing on the new Day 2 track which also starts and finishes at race headquarters at Coonatha northeast of the Gascoyne Junction, this new addition was well received by all who competed on it last year and thanks to some summer thunderstorms it has been able to bed in nicely and should make for even more enjoyable racing this year.

Due to the low entry numbers from the previous two events the club has decided that we will need to get some solid entry numbers before proceeding with this years event to ensure its economic viability, to do this the club is looking to get 50 paid entries for the 2016 Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash prior to the 30th August. All nominations that are paid prior to this date will be fully refunded should the event not go ahead. The Gascoyne Off Road Racing Club will and has already started making preparations for the 2016 event as we expect to meet this target. Entries will open on the 1st June and the Supplementary Regulations and other information will be available from the website.

It's more than a race it's an adventure.
